Refund policy
Returns & Refunds Policy
At The Cosy Edit, we want your experience to be as harmonious as our collections. Because our products are custom-printed specifically for you, our returns policy is governed by Australian Consumer Law (ACL) to ensure a fair process for both parties.
1. "Change of Mind" Returns
Under Australian Consumer Law, businesses are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you simply change your mind, choose the wrong size, or decide you no longer like the design.
- Custom Nature: Since each item is "made-to-order," we cannot restock or resell them. Please consult our Size Guides and product descriptions carefully before purchasing.
2. Consumer Guarantees (Faulty or Damaged Goods)
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee (e.g., it is faulty, damaged, or significantly different from the description), you are entitled to a remedy.
The type of remedy depends on whether the problem is Major or Minor:
A. Major Failures
A "Major Failure" is when the product:
- Has a problem that would have stopped you from buying it if you had known about it (e.g., the print is completely the wrong color or the garment is the wrong style).
- Is significantly different from the sample or description.
- Is unsafe or substantially unfit for its common purpose.
Your Remedy: You have the right to choose between a full refund or a replacement of the same item.
B. Minor Failures
A "Minor Failure" is a small defect that does not stop the product from performing its main function and can be easily fixed (e.g., a small, fixable stitching error).
Your Remedy: Under the ACL, The Cosy Edit (the supplier) chooses the remedy. We will either:
- Provide a free repair (if applicable).
- Provide a replacement.
- Offer a full refund.
3. How to Request a Return
If you believe your item has a fault, please follow these steps:
(1) Contact us: Email hello@thecosyedit.store within 14 days of receiving your order.
(2) Provide Evidence: Include your order number and clear photos of the fault or damage. For POD items, a photo is often enough to process a replacement without you needing to mail the item back.
(3) Assessment: We will assess the claim under ACL guidelines and notify you of the outcome.
4. Shipping Costs for Returns
- For Faulty Goods: If we require you to return a faulty item, The Cosy Edit will cover the reasonable cost of return shipping. We may provide a pre-paid label or reimburse your postage costs upon receipt of a valid quote.
- International Claims: The same ACL protections apply to our international customers. We will work with you to provide a digital solution (like a replacement) to avoid high international shipping costs where possible.
5. Proof of Purchase
Please keep your order confirmation email or invoice as proof of purchase. We cannot process any ACL claims without it.
ACL Statement
"Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure."
